NEW BEDFORD GOP TO MEET 9/12, ANNOUNCE CITYWIDE SEARCH FOR VICE-CHAIRPERSON

The New Bedford Republican Party will host its monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 103 Caroline Street, New Bedford, with an announced business meeting time of 6:30PM.  The agenda for the September meeting will be substantial.  Items listed on the tentative agenda include:  the quarterly fund-raiser, a committee resolution affirming support for candidate for US Senate Jeff Beatty, the Fall Membership Drive, as well as an update of the SouthCoast GOP events calendar and an upcoming GOP Speakers Series launching this winter.

Additionally, the New Bedford Republican Party is pleased to announce its citywide search for a VICE-CHAIRPERSON.  The New Bedford GOP wishes outgoing Vice-Chairperson Gretchen Pohl success in her retirement, and thanks Ms. Pohl for her distinguished tenure of initiative and service to the New Bedford Republican Party and to the Whaling City. 

All New Bedford Republicans are eligible to seek nomination for this post upon proof of official documentation of New Bedford residency and positive registration as a Republican.  Successful applicants will send letters of intent to chairman Nathan Pierce via email (newbedfordgop@yahoo.com) describing his/her qualifications. Successful applicants should also expect to seek sponsorship by a present committee member for the purpose of being introduced and voted as full-member of the committee, and further assuming the duties of VICE-CHAIRPERSON. 

The VICE-CHAIRPERSON’s duties are of great consequence to the operations of the New Bedford Republican Party.  In addition to regular conference with members of the Executive Board, the VICE-CHAIRPERSON should be well-equipped to establish dialogue between municipal and business leaders, and will officially initiate and oversee all membership operations and drives to further enhance the viability and participation of NB GOP members and prospective members.  An official vote confirming the ratification of the next VICE-CHAIRPERSON is expected to be held at the October 2 meeting.
