New Bedford Pilots Association Offers Sightseeing Flights Over Local Area.
Sightseeing flights are being offered EARLY THIS YEAR by the New Bedford Pilots Association on Saturday OCTOBER 3RD (Rain date Sunday October 4th) at the New Bedford Municipal Airport. The donation is $30 per adult and $15 per child age twelve and younger. Proceeds from the event will be used to provide toys and other gifts for children in the New Bedford PACE Care system and another local, family oriented charitable program to be announced this holiday season.
Flights will be in privately owned airplanes under visual flight rules assisted by the New Bedford FAA Control Tower. Weather permitting, the first flights will depart at 9 AM and flights will continue until no later than 4 PM. Routes may vary, but flights are expected to take in portions of New Bedford, Dartmouth, Fairhaven and possibly other nearby communities as well. Flight time will be approximately twenty minutes per flight.
This is an ideal opportunity to see the New Bedford region from the sky while helping to make this an unforgettable holiday season for a deserving child and family. Passengers are reminded to bring along a camera as every seat is a window seat and it will afford you a great view of the surrounding countryside.
All flights will originate from the Nor'east Aviation terminal (not the main passenger terminal) at the New Bedford Airport. All are invited to share in the fun of flying.
