On Friday, August 21 around 4:30 p.m., Fairhaven Police responded to a home at 85 Howland St. regarding a male stabbing victim.

Preliminary investigation has revealed Keith D. Correia, 39, of 85 Howland St., was the victim of a stabbing inside the home. He was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford where he was pronounced dead.

His son, Kalibe R. Correia, 18, of 85 Howland St., was arrested shortly after police arrived on scene. Kalibe Correia has been charged with manslaughter, assault with intent to kill and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Preliminary investigation by Fairhaven Police and the State Police Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office has revealed that Keith and Kalibe Correia were engaged in an argument yesterday afternoon. At some point during the argument, Kalibe Correeia allegedly fatally stabbed Keith Correia.

Kalibe Correia will be arraigned on the charges Monday morning in New Bedford District Court.

The ongoing investigation is being coordinated by Co-First Assistant District Attorney William McCauley and Assistant District Attorney Robert Kidd.

More details regarding the incident will be revealed during Monday morning's arraignment.
