NEW BEDFORD REPUBLICAN PARTY ENDORSES JEFF BEATTY FOR US SENATE

Throughout 2007, the New Bedford Republican Party has been thrilled to host and acquaint itself with a truly exceptional and inviting Republican candidate for US Senate, Mr. Jeff Beatty from Harwich, MA.  A native son of Massachusetts, private citizen and veteran, Jeff Beatty and his exploratory committee exemplify those philosophies and principles which unite and bring together Massachusetts Republicans from all political corners of our inclusive Republican tent. 

Mr. Beatty brings to his candidacy a strong, measurable record of service to the United States and to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  Mr. Beatty served with honor as a former US Army Delta Force Officer (wounded in the first Blackhawk Helicopter shot down) and earned a Purple Heart.  Mr. Beatty additionally served his country with distinction as an FBI Agent advising the National Hostage Rescue Team and later as a CIA Counter-Terrorism Officer with service in Europe and the Middle East theaters of operation.
 
Following service to the Commonwealth and to the United States, Mr. Beatty returned to Massachusetts to engage in the private sector and to offer his vast wealth of expertise to help protect American citizens.  Mr. Beatty founded and now operates TotalSecurity.US which has helped provide professional consulting and security operations as well as personnel critical to the protection of major American landmarks and mass-transit services:  Logan Airport, the MBTA, the Massachusetts Turnpike, the Pentagon, the World Trade Center, USS Constitution, the Statue of Liberty, the SUPERBOWL, the Rose Bowl and the Olympics.
With the presidential and senate races of 2008 rapidly approaching, the New Bedford Republican Party has been proud to host a pivotal role in helping to support candidates that best identify with these action-items and issues relevant to New Bedford.  A private citizen, veteran and professional, Jeff Beatty is undeniably the most qualified candidate to face John Forbes Kerry for the US Senate in 2008. 

Mr. Beatty has confirmed his commitment to keep our government small and less intrusive, will offer measurable goals to help attract businesses and long-term jobs to our Commonwealth, and has affirmed his willingness to work with all members and generations of our society to help honor the sacrifices made in Iraq and Afghanistan by revisiting simple, stated political and military methods to restore lasting security and a reinstated civil society to those affected regions.  In step with the New Bedford Republican Party, Mr. Jeff Beatty is an admirer and friend to all legal immigrants and entrepreneurs who come to our great nation to value the promise of political and financial freedom. The New Bedford Republican Party voted unanimously on September 12, 2007 to publicly and officially endorse Mr. Jeff Beatty and his exploratory committee for US Senate in 2008.

Established by charter as a fully-functioning political action committee, the New Bedford Republican Party identifies support of Republican candidates and fund-raising for candidates as the chief functions and operations of the organization.  As a group of representative delegates from each of New Bedford’s city wards, the party has been influential in helping to channel funding to deserving GOP candidates who qualify themselves as advocates and stewards of GOP action-items and policies.  New Bedford Republicans are proud of those candidates that do not shy from their GOP designation, but rather embrace the values and principles that make the local Republican Party the true vehicle for grassroots politics and progress.

Political action committee funding has been largely pivotal to candidates (in both major political parties) in many municipal, regional and statewide races as a result of the fact that this funding is wholly unregulated by both national and commonwealth financial fund-raising regulations.  Political action committees are unrestricted by the financial limitations for political giving in comparison to private citizens and other donors.  For this specific reason, the New Bedford Republican Party has enjoyed much attention at a local level from politicians and candidates who seek the endorsement and financial support and commitment of New Bedford Republicans. Convening monthly as a political action committee, the New Bedford Republican Party consistently searches for those candidates that best represent the positive and hopeful messages championed by our local Party.
