R.P. Valois & Company General Contractors of Dartmouth has been selected to restore the James H. Sullivan Courthouse in Attleboro that was heavily damaged by fire on May 18th.
The electrical fire gutted office and records space in the civil department and further caused smoke damage within two courtrooms. Bristol County Commissioner Paul Kitchen announced cost for the five-month restoration project at $667,000 that entails demolition and reconstruction of walls, flooring, masonry and repainting for the 100-year-old building.

President Roland P. Valois is a licensed construction and real estate professional with over thirty years experience in historic restoration, residential, commercial and coastal construction. Mr. Valois’ historic restoration achievements include the New Bedford Preservation Society Elm Award and two-time recipient of the Waterfront Historic Area League’s prestigious Sarah Delano Award. Valois has also earned Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist and Certified Green Professional designations from the National and Massachusetts Associations of Home Builders.
