New Bedford, MA) – (11/30/07) – Fay’s restaurant, located at 613 Dartmouth Street in Dartmouth, MA, is helping to bring holiday cheer to children at the Schwartz Center for Children by holding a “Lunch with Santa” on Wednesday, December 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and conducting a toy and clothing drive for families who attend programs and services of the Center. 


Children who attend the “Lunch with Santa” may have their photo taken with Santa and meet with Schwartz Center for Children staff to learn about the Center’s services. Santa will also be providing each child with a small goody bag courtesy of Fays Restaurant. 


The community is asked to bring new unwrapped toys and/or small articles of clothing such as mittens and hats for boys or girls to the restaurant.  These toys and items of clothing will be distributed throughout the holiday season to children of the Schwartz Center for Children.


The Schwartz Center for Children is a non-profit agency established in 1947 by parents seeking services for their children and is the only freestanding pediatric rehabilitation clinic in New England.  Since its founding, the Center has continued to grow to meet the needs of children throughout the Southcoast area.  Its four major programs include: Early Intervention, Private Day School, an Outpatient Rehabilitation Program, and a Regional Consultation program.


The Schwartz Center’s mission is to help children reach their greatest potential.  It is able to do this through strong community support from private contributions, fundraising events, and the United Way of Greater New Bedford.
