The Jewish Federation of Greater New Bedford and the City of New Bedford’s No Place for Hate Committee today extended an invitation to the general public to attend a free performance of The Tzofim (Israeli Scouts) Friendship Caravan, a multicultural celebration which is part of New Bedford’s No Place for Hate community programming. The performance will take place on Tuesday, August 7, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Greater New Bedford Vocational-Technical High School Auditorium.

As a No Place for Hate ® Community, New Bedford conducts several initiatives annually to combat prejudice, support interfaith peace initiatives, and actively promotes diversity and tolerance. As part of this year’s NPFH programming, the Department of Community Services is pleased to host the Tzofim Friendship Caravan for a special one-night performance.

The Friendship Caravan consists of teenaged Israeli Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts who visit schools, churches, summer camps, and community centers across America each summer, sharing their lives through song, dance and story as part of a cultural exchange program with the United States. Mixing traditional Israeli musical styles with catchy contemporary pop, their shows are uplifting, inspirational, and fun for all ages.

This special event was made possible thanks to support from the New Bedford Cultural Council, The Jewish Federation of Greater New Bedford, and the New Bedford Department of Community Services. Please join the City of New Bedford’s No Place for Hate Committee for an exciting evening of music, dance and international friendship!
