So a friend calls me to tell me that he has just dropped his Blackberry in the toilet. He routinely keeps his blackberry in a holster attached to his belt and yesterday while paying a visit to the throne room, his blackberry unhooked from his belt and dropped right into the toilet.

How much do you love your Blackberry?

So a friend calls me to tell me that he has just dropped his blackberry in the toilet. He routinely keeps his blackberry in a holster attached to his belt and yesterday while paying a visit to the throne room, his blackberry unhooked from his belt and dropped right into the toilet.

Having read an article online a while back about such occurences (good grief, what magazines do I read???), I suggested that he take his now defunct Blackberry and leave it overnight in a sealed tupperware container of uncooked rice. The rice would possibly draw out the moisture from the sodden device.

Well - long story short, it worked. Next day after putting back in the battery, the Blackberry was working again! Of course you wouldn't catch me putting that thing up against my head after its immersion in the toilet. I'd sell it on eBay!
