A “Shocking” event is quickly approaching.  Learn about AEDs (Defibrillators) during a free informational session hosted by Medical Survival Consultants will help local businesses and families save lives.

Medical Survival Consultants specializes in healthcare and safety education

Since AEDs are proven to be a leading factor in saving lives for the high majority of cardiac arrest victims, Medical Survival Consultants of North Dartmouth will be hosting free and open to the public, an AED mini expo all day this Wednesday February 27th as well as at least two informational sessions at the North Dartmouth office, located at 86 Faunce Corner Rd on the first floor.  You will be provided with information on how to properly use an AED in combination with CPR and where one should be located as well as information on first aid practices.  All your AED, CPR and First Aid questions will be answered.  The exposition will open at 8 AM and run until 7:30 PM those attending may come and go as they please throughout the day.  Informational sessions will last approximately an hour and will start at 8:30 AM and then again at 5:30 PM.  Coffee and tea as well as pastries and snack items will be available.

Continuing Education credit will be available to those that attend one of the informaitonal sessions since unexpected emergencies do arise when they are the least convenient and it is important to make sure those that will act in an emergency are properly trained in how to use an AED (Defibrillator).

Your co-worker or loved one just suddenly without much warning clutches his chest and gasps for a breath as he slumps to the ground and becomes unresponsive.  This situation may be the result of a variety of health issues that could arise.  The question is, are you going to know what to do when the life of a loved one is in your hands?  Most individuals would not, so you’re not alone if you were one of the many people that felt a cold chill run down your spine when you read the situation above.  It is something we tend to try not to think about, in fear that it might happen.

During the event, table top displays around the room will provide a wealth of information to help you gather information on how to properly use an AED if an emergency were to arise and what you should be looking for when purchasing an AED, something most consumers don’t know and as unfortunate or realistic as it is, your decision is the difference between life or death.  Statistically AEDs are a leading cause of saving lives in the majority of cardiac arrest patients.  It is unfortunately often over looked when companies plan out their budgets and a very vital piece of safety equipment.  Medical Survival Consultants will also have information and demonstrations available for other safety products and general information on procedures and practices that can improve your general health.  Even though the focus of the event is on the AEDs and First Aid products to help consumers use this equipment properly, information on a wide variety of medical conditions and practices will be available as well.  This event is great for managers, owners, elderly couples and those families with someone at risk for a heart related condition as well as medical professionals and office managers.

Medical Survival Consultants specializes in healthcare and safety education.  Their courses cover a variety of topics including CPR, First Aid and Infection Control as well as courses more specific to certain professions or groups.  As trainers seeing the success of public access defibrillation in saving lives, their efforts in providing these informational sessions and exposition is to help those in businesses and the community to learn about the proper use of an AED and first aid equipment as well as provide a source to answer questions and provide educational materials to assist in the distribution of knowledge in the community.

To let Medical Survival Consultants know of your plans to attend so you receive all the event updates or to sign up for another program please contact the office at 508-997-2500 or MSC@DCSHEA.COM or you may gather the most up to date information from the website www.dcshea.com
