Operation Clean Sweep To Tackle Ward 6 Clean Up Scheduled for July 21, 2007 - Volunteers Needed

New Bedford - Operation Clean Sweep will target Ward 6 this Saturday in their third cleanup of the season.  This cleanup is a partnership between the City of New Bedford, area businesses and volunteer organizations.

Operation Clean Sweep volunteers will tackle Ward 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 12 Noon.  Volunteers will enjoy coffee and donuts provided by Honey Dew Donuts and lunch by Domino’s Pizza.  Volunteers’ names will be entered into a drawing to win a 50-gallon trash barrel.

Participants are encouraged to register in advance by calling (508) 979-1493 or by meeting in the Family Dollar Parking lot on West Rodney French Boulevard and David Street.  Community service groups are encouraged to join and may be eligible to receive credit for community service hours.

If you are unable to attend this clean up, the Operation Clean Sweep Committee hopes you will save the date for all of the future Saturday cleanups that are planned:  August 18-Ward 4; Sept 15-Ward 1; October 20-Ward 5.

Residents and businesses are encouraged "to clean up their little part of the world" by taking care of their property on a regular basis. For more information call (508) 979-1493 or email operationcleansweepnb@gmail.com
