Absentee Voting for New Bedford Ward 3 Special Municipal Election

New Bedford, Massachusetts - The Board of Election Commissioners reminds those Ward 3 voters in the City of New Bedford who will be unable to reach their designated polling location on the day of the Ward 3 Special Election, they can cast their absentee ballots at the Elections Office in City Hall on Saturday, April 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 12 Noon.
This Special Municipal Election in Ward 3 only, is to elect a City Councilor to fill the vacancy left by former Ward 3 City Councilor Joe De Medeiros. Councilor Medeiros resigned from his position as of January 2008.
Voters can also apply for an absentee ballot up until 12 Noon on Monday, April 7, 2008, the last day before the Special Municipal Election. For those New Bedford voters who are temporarily out of the city, a relative can request an absentee ballot on their behalf. Ballots will be sent through the mail to the voter and can be returned to the Elections Office by a relative or caretaker.
