North Dartmouth, MA - The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Tobias S. Monte, will present a free concert on Wednesday, April 30, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Campus Center's main auditorium.
The Wind Ensemble is comprised of students, faculty, alumni and community musicians. The program will feature a diverse repertoire of selections that will demonstrate the group's musical versatility. The performance will include Leonard Bernstein's "Overture to Candide," "A Leroy Anderson Portrait," featuring well-known pieces such as "The Syncopated Clock," "Bugler's Holiday," and "Blue Tango," C.E. Duble's march, "Bravura," and Claude Debussy's "The Engulfed Cathedral," which conveys the story of a mystical occurrence.
The brass, percussion and woodwind sections will be highlighted in individual works. In addition, Ron Nelson's "Rocky Point Holiday," will transport listeners back to the popular Rhode Island amusement park and all of its exciting rides and attractions.
