The Veterans Transition House Honor Guard has been invited to participate in the 233rd Anniversary of the Battle of Lexington parade. This year’s theme for the parade is “Lexington…It Began Here, April 19, 1775.”  The parade starts at Massachusetts Ave. and Maple Street in East Lexington and ends at the Minute Man Statue at Lexington Center.  The parade is part of the festivities of Patriots’ Day, a Massachusetts civic holiday proclaimed by Governor Frederic T. Greenhalge in 1890 in observance of the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the first battles of the American Revolutionary Wars.

The VTH Honor Guard is comprised of men and women veterans of the United States armed forces.  They have participated in numerous civic veteran and patriotic ceremonies in New Bedford and surrounding towns and as distant as the Massachusetts VFW Convention Parade in Danvers, MA.
