June 10, 2008, Mattapoisett, MA—BER inc, a creative design company that specializes in corporate branding, proudly announces the launch of a new identity and website design for actor, director, and Academy Award-winning writer Ernest Thompson.
In an effort to expand on his long and successful career, Mr. Thompson worked closely with BER inc to develop a more visible and branded identity that would create interest in his new company—Whitebridge Farm Productions—and would reinforce awareness of his current and future projects and workshop series for aspiring writers, actors, and directors. BER inc designed an identity for Mr. Thompson that is adaptable for both web and print and reflects his world-renown status, creativity, and craft. The website, www.ErnestThompson.us, showcases Mr. Thompson’s extraordinary body of work, photos of the acclaimed celebrities he has worked with, his many distinguished awards, and his extensive workshop series.
Mr. Thompson turned his first full-length stage play ON GOLDEN POND into the classic movie starring Katharine Hepburn and Hendry Fonda and won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, a Golden Globe, and a Writers Guild Award. Translated into 27 languages, the play has been performed in more than forty countries. It earned a Tony nomination for Best Revival during its recent return to Broadway, starring James Earl Jones and Leslie Uggams, and was followed by a national tour with Tom Bosley and Michael Learned. Currently, it is a smash hit in Israel, touring Italy, and playing in Paris with French superstars Jean Piat and Danielle Darrieux. Productions in Athens, Madrid, and Sidney are scheduled to follow.
Mr. Thompson is the screenwriter of SWEET HEARTS DANCE (starring Susan Sarandon and Don Johnson) and THE LIES BOYS TELL (Kirk Douglas and Craig T. Nelson). He wrote and directed 1969 (Robert Downey Jr. and Keifer Sutherland), THE WEST SIDE WALTZ (Shirley MacLaine and Liza Minnelli) and OUT OF TIME (James McDaniel and Mel Harris), as well as the live television broadcast of ON GOLDEN POND with Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. Other plays include THE WEST SIDE WALTZ (with Katharine Hepburn and Dorothy Loudon), A SENSE OF HUMOR (Jack Lemmon and Estelle Parsons), ANSWERS (Burgess Meredith and Charles Durning), and the upcoming AX OF LOVE, with Karen Black.
As an actor, Mr. Thompson has appeared on Broadway, in two television series and in numerous TV and feature films, including THE LAST OF THE BELLES (opposite Susan Sarandon), STAR 80 and NEXT STOP WONDERLAND. He is currently raising capital for his independent movie THE LOVE LINE, which he will direct in Providence, and star in with Pamela Lambert.
Whitebridge Farm Productions’ first film will be Mr. Thompson’s ELYSIAN FARM, a harrowing but tender story of child abuse, courage and redemption, slated to shoot in Mr. Thompson’s home state, New Hampshire, and featuring one of several A list stars now being considered.
Since launching the website, Mr. Thompson has been inundated with inquiries about his new production company and upcoming films and plays, workshops, script analysis, and public speaking engagements. To view his website, go to www.ErnestThompson.us.
