New Bedford, MA – June 17, 2008 – The New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce has scheduled the 2008 Chamber Invitational Golf Tournament for Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at LeBaron Hills Country Club in Lakeville, MA.

The beautiful 18-hole championship course features lush fairways, sparkling ponds, elevated greens, and a selection of tees. The tournament will be played in a 2-Ball Bramble format with prizes awarded to the top three teams. The day begins with registration and boxed lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., networking and hors d’oeuvres at 5:00 p.m., and concludes with dinner and awards ceremony at 6:00 p.m.

The Chamber is pleased to announce that this year’s Tournament Co-Chairs are James Pratt, Jr. CPA MST of Hodgson Pratt˛ & Associates, Donald Monaghan of Monaghan Printing Company, Inc. & Jack Silva of Bristol County Savings Bank. In addition, many thanks are extended to the Tournament Sponsor, Wonder Bowl - Holiday Lanes - East Providence Lanes.

Proceeds from the event will help support the efforts of the New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce in our mission to advocate for business advancement, economic growth, and job creation for the benefit of New Bedford and the SouthCoast region. The entire event committee will be reaching out to the local business community to request prize contributions, present sponsorship opportunities, and secure foursomes for the tournament. The registration fee, which includes boxed lunch, golf cart, 18-holes of golf, bottled water during play, golfer’s gift bag, awards ceremony, and buffet dinner is just $150 per player.
