$5,000 in scholarships still available for UMD Summer Program in Portuguese

The Luso-American Development Foundation has recently made thousands of dollars in scholarships available for students who apply to the UMass-Dartmouth Summer Program in Portuguese, which runs from July 7th to August 6, 2008. Course topics range from elementary to advanced Portuguese, Portuguese-English translation, Portuguese-American literature and culture, contemporary Brazilian history, to an advanced undergraduate/graduate course on the Portuguese cultural encounter in Asia. A specific number of scholarships is reserved for teachers of Portuguese and high school students.
