14th Annual Auto Show fundraiser to benefit individuals with disabilities at UMass Dartmouth

North Dartmouth, MA- Hundreds of classic cars and trucks will compete for prizes on Sunday, August 10, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a fundraising event sponsored by the Bristol County Street Rod Association. Proceeds from the show will benefit the SHARE Foundation which helps people will disabilities to communicate.
The classic auto show will be held on the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth observatory grounds just by the campus entrance. In addition to the auto show, there will be food, a flea market and other activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Entrance fee is $2.
Rain date for the event is August 24.
Johnny Angel, a popular MC and disc jockey will provide entertainment. For entrants, the registration fee is $10 and same day registration begins at 8 a.m. and runs through 12 Noon in order to be eligible for prizes. The first 200 cars will receive dash plaques and awards will be presented for "Best in Show," "Professor's Choice," and "Club Participation."

The SHARE Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports the Center for Rehabilitation Engineering at UMass Dartmouth. Since 1981, SHARE and the Center have provided adaptive equipment that has enabled more than 2,600 children and adults with disabilities such as cerebral palsy, ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries and more to communicate and lead more independent lives.
