Enjoy Summer Concert Series in the Parks!

New Bedford, Massachusetts- The City of New Bedford 2007 Summer Nights Concert Series will continue through to August 29, 2007.  This lively free concert series features performances by musical artists at several New Bedford parks from 6:30pm-8:00pm.

The Summer Nights Concert Series is a great opportunity to enjoy a free evening of musical entertainment sponsored by the Recreation Commission and New Bedford Mayor Scott W. Lang.  Artists will play jazz, swing and classical tunes.  Upcoming concerts include:

• Wednesday, August 1, 2007- “The Ed Salk Group” at Brooklawn Park
• Wednesday, August 8, 2007- “Joe Bolton” at Buttonwood Park
• Wednesday, August 22, 2007- “Portuguese American Concert Band” at Buttonwood Park
• Wednesday, August 29, 2007- “Meadow Larks Big Band” at Clasky Common Park

Those who plan to attend a Summer Nights Concert are encouraged to bring along lawn chairs or blankets.  Should inclement weather occur on the evening of any of the scheduled concerts, the program will be relocated to the Buttonwood Senior Center.  For additional information, please contact the City of New Bedford Recreation Department at (508) 991-6295.
