On the winding rural roads still found in Southeastern Massachusetts, drivers are used to slowing down for farmers on their tractors. For two days next week, a new and unusual vehicle will be touring these same roads in support of local farms and food producers—the colorfully wrapped “Buy Fresh, Buy Local”-mobile of FoodRoutes National Coordinator Jess Seeley.

On our tour of Southeastern MA local farms and businesses committed to buying local, we'll be having lunch at Cafe Arpeggio in New Bedford at noon on Friday, Aug. 10th.  Come hang out and talk buying local with Jess and the SEMAP folks, all while enjoying great food.  From there the tour will head to Dartmouth Farmer' Market in Padanaram from 1-4pm.  On the following day the tour will begin at the Rochester Farmers' Market (8-12pm) and continue cape bound visiting farms and businesses in Mattapoisett, Marion and Falmouth.

Check out the car, meet some fellow food lovers, and enjoy a weekend in the summer supporting your local food producers!
