The Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth is pleased to announce a lecture entitled "The Reconstruction of Lisbon: Severa's Legacy and the Fado's Rewriting of Urban History" by Professor Michael Colvin. The lecture will be on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 5:00 pm and will be held in Liberal Arts Building, Room 374 (parking lot 1).Michael Covin is an Assistant Professor of Hispanic Studies at Marymount Manhattan College in New York. He has recently published a book about fado and fascism in Portugal, called The Reconstruction of Lisbon: Severa's Legacy and the Fado's Rewriting of Urban History (Lewisburg: Bucknell University Press, 2008).
