So a friend calls me to tell me that he has just dropped his Blackberry in the toilet. He routinely keeps his blackberry in a holster attached to his belt and yesterday while paying a visit to the throne room, his blackberry unhooked from his belt and dropped right into the toilet.
On several occasions over the past few weeks I've been sent documents (Word and Excel) that have been created using Microsoft Office 2007. If you weren't aware, documents produced in Office 2007 are not compatible with Office 2003 (the version I still use).
Let me start by saying that I think you'd be crazy if you ever assumed that an email you'd sent had been safely received. Email disappears every day! The Bermuda Triange encompasses New Bedford.
"See you at Best Buy" - Once a week (and sometimes more), I meet with a client at Best Buy (or Circuit City) to help them select appropriate equipment for their office.

You gave my email address to the entire city! --- Ever receive an email message from someone that contains dozens (or even hundreds) of email addresses in the CC field? I know I have. In fact there doesn't seem to be a week goes by here in New Bedford when I don't receive one of these emails.

Did you know that your next vacation might well impact the amount of SPAM you receive for the rest of the year? Here's a tip concerning email auto responders and the unintended consequences of using them...
With 90% - 95% of computer problems addressable via remote support, it's making a whole lot of sense for New Bedford area Not for Profits (and for profits too) to have their IT team on standby, but not on staff!
One of Donna Motta's first pieces of business as Downtown New Bedford, Inc.'s new Executive Director was to enhance the organization's web site. The existing site was several years old and no longer suited how the organization wanted to present itself to the community.

Many enhancements were made to the new web site, including improvements to the navigation structure, color scheme and layout.

A significant enhancement was the integration of New Bedford Internet's acclaimed web site editing software - InCommand. With InCommand, the DNB, Inc. staff will be able to edit virtually any portion of their web site without having to rely on a "webmaster" to do it for them. At any time of the day or night, and from any computer connected to the internet, the DNB,Inc. staff will be able to change their site's content - text and photos can all be added and edited using InCommand.

"InCommand is a much more affordable way to edit a web site" says Paul Allen, president of New Bedford Internet. "Instead of having to pay a webmaster for hourly maintenance services, a company or organization can use InCommand to edit their own sites - on their schedule and at affordbale prices."

Use of InCommand incurs a low ($19.95) monthly cost.

Downtown New Bedford, Inc. is a vital part of the success and future of New Bedford. New Bedford Internet is proud to have been given the opportunity to assist in the furtherance of their mission.
