Southcoast Health System, a not-for-profit charitable organization, is a community based health delivery system with multiple access points, offering an integrated continuum of advanced health services throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and East Bay, Rhode Island. It includes Southcoast Hospitals Group, formed in 1996 from the merger of Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford and Tobey Hospital in Wareham.

Southcoast has more than 40 ancillary facilities, including the Southcoast Health Van, home health care, hospice and infusion services, numerous outpatient medical services, an assisted living facility and a wellness center. For more information visit www.southcoast.org.

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. - Southcoast Home Care, Hospice & Palliative Care & Infusion Services was recently recognized by Masspro, the Medicare quality improvement organization for Massachusetts, for significantly reducing the number of home care patients who need to be readmitted to a hospital over a 30-day period.

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. - The St. Luke’s Auxiliary will host a “celebrity” fashion show on Thursday, April 24, at 6 p.m. at Rachel’s Lakeside in Dartmouth to benefit digital mammography services at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Heart attacks strike both men and women. The warning signs should never be ignored. Call 911 immediately if you think you are having a heart attack.

During the month of February will hear (hopefully) a lot about women being at high risk for heart disease.  When you ask any women what the leading cause of death in women is, she will usually respond breast cancer. Not so.
DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Stroke survivors, their families, caregivers and friends are invited to join the Southcoast Hospitals’ Stroke Support Group.
     
A friendly forum for sharing and learning, the Stroke Support Group is held the third Wednesday of the month from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Heritage of Dartmouth, 239 Cross Road, North Dartmouth. Each month the group will offer information sessions with guest speakers and medical professionals.

This designation means Charlton has met rigorous quality criteria based on nationally recognized medical standards and expert advice.
