NORTH DARTMOUTH, Ma. — Medical Survival Consultants announces a new addition to their training staff.  James Gamelin R.N. of Coventry, Rhode Island has joined the instructional staff of Medical Survival Consultants as a Safety Consultant/Instructor after a recent retirement from OSHA Consultation.  Medical Survival Consultants will now offer courses in workplace safety and health including many mandatory courses outlining the most current OSHA regulations as well as many recommended courses in areas of interest to various industrial, retail, distribution and healthcare settings.  After thirty years of work with OSHA Consultation as well as many impressive positions, articles and appearances Jim Gamelin is an honored addition to MSC.
It could happen the next time you go shopping or as you enjoy a meal in a favorite restaurant. You suddenly overhear someone talking about a killer in your neighborhood. Chances are, you’ll suddenly lose interest in finding the soup that’s on sale or the sandwich you’re about to bite into. Your attention will focus on hearing about what happened, how it happened and making sure it won’t happen to you.
AEDs are becoming more and more commonly sighted and used in public areas as well as private residences where the risk of cardiac arrest (Heart Attack) is present.  Should you have one in your home or business?  What are the risks and is there liability?  With the proper training you could be prepared if an emergency were to arise saving the life of a friend or loved one.  The target market for providing training is to women in their fifties and sixties since men in their fifties and sixties are the most prone to a heart attack and will need their spouse to know what to do.
Halloween has always brought great memories to mind as I recall all the costumes I have worn over the years.  One story that keeps coming to mind is my parent’s rules that my brother and I could only have one piece of candy a day, yet it is not the endless amounts of candy I remember but how long I managed to make it last.  Unfortunately along with Halloween comes many worries for parents that hopefully through these tips we can relieve a few of these potential situations in the New Bedford and Southcoast area.
