From the Horse's Mouth

"From the Horse's Mouth" comes from the expression "I got it straight from the horse's mouth." This expression is thought to have originated in the horse racing industry where the health (and subsequent fitness and race-worthiness) of a horse was judged partly by an examination of the horse's mouth (teeth, gums etc.) as an indicator of the overall health of the horse. The closer one could get to a horse prior to the race, the better the chances of accurately assessing the horse's condition, and therefore its chances in the race. You don't get closer to a horse, than inside its mouth!

In our "From the Horse's Mouth" section, NewBedford360 will interview people on a variety of current issues and present you with their responses and comments. We won't add to, subtract from or otherwise slant their comments with an adgenda of our own. Rather we'll let them speak, then you be the judge.

Welcome to "From the Horse's Mouth! If you have suggestions of stories, events or people that you think we ought to be covering, please let us know by using our contact form.
